I haven't watched this movie in ages but might revisit it to watch through a specifically queer lens. I think that the filmmakers' intentions are for the most part irrelevant because once the movie is out there in its completed form, bc that is what we are left with to interpret and analyze. I get the feeling its creators were just making an exploitation movie with a shock twist ending to make bank, and the queer elements were drawn from the mostly queer phobic attitudes and assumptions of the time. Angela seeing her 2 dads having gay sex is assumed to be sufficient to turn her into a psychopath capable of mass murder; that tracks with the societal assumptions of the time, as hard as that may be to believe. That the movie even uses the act of sex between 2 men as a plot device is edgy for its time. I'll have to check it out.
