I recently lucked upon this blu-ray in the $5 bin at WalMart. When I watched this version, which I'd never seen, I was impressed with how well it played and how satisfying the narrative was. The points you list are fascinating, your take makes perfect sense. It never occurred to me that Deckard was activated right before we meet him. I'm also a huge fan of Bladerunner 2049.
