I'm 57 and queer, so there really isn't a reason I would know any of this, but I am shocked that I never knew any of this stuff. My sister had complicated pregnancies due mostly to her blood pressure spiking during delivery. The doctor also cut her with a scalpel before delivery to enlarge the passage for birth before the painkiller had kicked in, which traumatized her. But she and my mom eventually shrugged these complications off as par for the course and it seemed somewhat normalized. I noticed one comment that mentioned adoption as an option for women who might want kids but don't want to give birth, and I'm curious to find out about women who might be in that boat (I work in CPS so this is of interest to me).
