Many young adults consider prostitution, stripping, creating adult content/porn, or being "kept" by an older wealthy man or woman, for a wide range of reasons. Some do it to try and climb out of poverty, others come from wealthy backgrounds and so it's because they enjoy it, are good at it, and want to be their own boss. Like any business field, more fail than succeed. There's an air of judgment in your story that doesn't sit well with me; I'm getting a Scarlet Letter vibe for sure. The bottom line is that you don't get to decide who is empowered and how they empower themselves. There is no real gatekeeper for female empowerment. Some women are empowered by their OF work, that's reality. If people have to deal with their digital footprint haunting them it's because people who express the views in your story, who insist that they need to pay a price and be shamed for something you don't approve of. Of course, you're entitled to your feelings and opinion. The stance you're taking is only adding to that stigma, and I don't know if that's your intent.
