My partner text messaged me yesterday imploring me to stop by target and pick up the gay nutcracker, which their website showed was in stock. I said I would just to settle him down, but while in the store I was wondering why should I reward target for being cowards? I haven't set foot in one since the summer pride debacle of 2023, when target clearly dropped the big red ball, and then their CEO recently whining on tv about how they had no choice due to concern over staff safety. Well, instead of caving to the violent christian nationalists, what target should have done is hire security to protect staff from violent christian nationalists, then go on tv and explain to the nation why they're spending all that money to protect staff from violent christian nationalists. But after their cost/benefit analysis, target chose violent christian nationalists over their queer customers. and that's totally their choice, they're free to make it, but that's why I no longer shop at target. 🙂 btw they appear to have pulled the gay nutcrackers from shelves but you can still order it online for pickup or delivery.
