Thank you! I remember our group that night inserted "we're fabulous" in between "we're queer" and "get used to it!" Your comment led me to remember it. The Queer Nation energy of that moment was urgent and exciting, but most importantly empowering. After years of AIDS and the general attitude of "You're lucky we still allow you to exist, now shut up and be grateful" from straight society, the idea of "bashing back" was quite ballsy. I miss the spirit of Queer Nation I hope we can recapture some of that. We do through the subversion and bravery of drag, but it needs to spread to all corners of the community. We need that energy right now.
