The Cars are my favorite band, I was 12 when this album came out and I started hearing them on the radio. Ranking bands against each other is rarely productive because it's all subjective, but the Cars bridged the gap between rock and new wave in a way that appealed to people in both camps. They also made compact new wave pop songs that are unequaled. I like Talking Heads too, but it's apples and oranges to me. Thanks for the review.
