When I lived in L.A. the West Hollywood Target was like a queer retail mecca. Target openly courted queer dollars for years when the momentum was moving in the right direction pre- and post-marriage equality. But I learned that brand loyalty means absolutely nothing when the company comes to view your dollars as a liability. I'm sure Target spent a lot of time and money analyzing their courting of queer dollars, and they've made their decision. I see no reason to continue shopping there and haven't since this whole thing blew up. They've handled it wrong from Day 1. Let them have all the bigots. These tides of anti-queer sentiment are cyclical; we've been thru them before and we will come out the other side of this one stronger than ever. We'll fight them like we always do. Since we tend to be outnumbered the fight will be rough, but we have more allies than ever before. The bigots will eventually lose. It's how history plays out.
